Last year we received notification that our Bowral Golf Club property had been revalued and the valuation was $5.2 million. Land values in NSW are periodically revalued and the land valuation is used as a base for the amount of rates paid. We decided to object to the value and engaged a licensed valuer to act on our behalf in arriving at a more reasonable valuation. This was done, the objection was lodged and last week we received notification that our land value had been reduced to $2.5 million. This will reduce our rates, when it comes into effect, from $37,000 to $19,500, a saving of $17,500 per year. A lot of work, but a major success. Excellent.
